It has been officially announced that the follow up to Resident Evil Afterlife would be coming to cinemas late 2012. Milla Jovich has signed on to once again star as Alice, it is yet to be confirmed if Paul Anderson will direct, but it is likely he will.
The title has not been announced either so I'm guessing it will be Resident Evil Resurrection, but who knows still it would be awesome if it turned out to be Resident Evil: They just keep coming or Resident Evil: the ulitmate torture. Many reviews report their distaste to the series but the fourth installment was a 3D box office smash so clearly there is still money left in this franchise.
I'm a fan of the game series, and I can understand why fans of the games dislike the films. I can also see why people who are not fans of the games dislike the film. So who the hell watches this stuff then. Well maybe its a mixer of both, just beacause people don't like a series does not neccessarily mean they won't still see it at the cinema. I guess it is like people into S&M they know its gonna hurt but they still do it, however, if your getting sexual pleasure out of Resident Evil films maybe you need to get out more.
The film series has its own stand alone story but why it just tacks on odd characters from the games is bizzare when usually they just sit in the corner and act as a character you know will survive the film.
Oh well, the fifth one is coming it will probably be in 3D maybe not, who knows maybe 5th time is the charm
