Have you ever made a list of all the things you wanted to do before you got too old? Of course you have everyone has. The problem is many of us never get a chance to do all of those crazy dreams we had when we were younger because of fear. Its easy to blame all of our commitments or life stresses, though chances are there is someone out there in a lot worse state who has gone on and had a go at their dream list.
Everyones list is different only do your own one, not someone elses.
One on my list was learning to ride a motorcycle. I finally got my chance to get on a bike recently and it was just like I imagined when I was younger. For me it was never the rebelious image that attracted me to bikes, or the fact it makes girls like you for some reason or even the cool factor. For me it was the feeling of confidence it gave me. A sensation I can now carry over to other areas of my life.
Many people fear bikers and consider them death traps. But firstly if you think this I advise you to try it before you comment and also its not the bike thats the danger after all its a inanimate object which has no phychology, its a tool. And its only how the tool is used which can potentially make it dangerous. Juat like you wouldn't give a gun to a five year old, if you know what your doing, your trained and your confident you'll be ok. Of course accidents happen but if your going to talk on this level you may as well say a trainned motorcyclist is at the same risk of being in a accident as you do getting to work safely tommorrow (even if its by foot, hey airplanes fall sometimes).
I'm on my route to completing my full motorcycle liscence and once that is achieved my secondary dream to actually getting on a bike is to ride into the sunset, dead cheesy but its my dream and how I picture it is unique.
I just hope you give yourself a chance to go out there and do one of those crazy dreams on your list, its never too late no matter how old you are.
If your interested in riding a motorcylce www.geton.co.uk is offering free taster sessions in the safety of a car park. Since its free and so long as your 17 or over anyone can have a bash. Well worth it even if you never plan on owning bike.
Have a mad one
James
